my good friend sam doom & i played around in the photography studio on campus, and it was wonderful. i highly recommend the lomo fisheye and all of it's fancy counterparts. the darker, grittier images are the blackbird fly camera, shown in the first photo. i'd still love to learn how to use 120 cameras & film, but there's always time.

i'm an art history major, and i love this. obviously, it's beautiful. and obviously, the story that it illustrates is absolutely fascinating. but from a modern, social perspective, i love the bodies. i love the size of these women, and i love their cellulite. in fact, i'm crazy about the cellulite. it's absolutely beautiful.

not to mention, this is one of the few artists that can actually paint a fucking horse (the heads are a little small, but i'll take it). thank you, rubens, for doin' some goddamn work.

the mangel & i went to the smashing pumpkins show at the ritz in ybor and it was AMAZING. they played my favorite song of theirs, ava adora, and it was incredible to see a band that i've listened to for so long live. not to mention, it made a wonderful date night. he & i were reveling in our recent legality, enjoying rum & cokes with a dash of grenadine and exchanging love eyes in front of the speakers.

p.s. i am in love with this dress ! i have been hunting for a fitted maxi dress (that's not 90's thrift) for awhile, and i struck gold at f21. plus, the b&w horizontal stripe seemed perfect for the event- i think i got a dozen compliments :)

my dad came to town from palm beach to bring me a horse trailer of beautiful antiques ! glass buoys, a 200 year old italian armoire, and so many antique books (my thirst for nerdiness has almost been quenched), along with stacks of incredible wall art. i'll post pictures of some of the goodies soon. i had to post these pictures, though, because i love our prints together. he's very proud of his shirt, it's a, "vintage missoni- you know who that is?" and i quite like it. :) also pictured is the love of my life, valdano, in the right hand corner. a lovely summer morning, indeed.

my favorite place in the WORLD- santa catalina island, off the coast of long beach, CA. i'm hoping to take my boyfriend there for a romantic weekend, where & when i will get better photos with this beautiful scenery.
